Das Autokino Köln ist Geschichte, dann setzen wir die Tradition des Mega Festival einfach drinnen im klassischen Kino im Veedel fort.

Geocaching International Film Festival Blockparty im Veedel
Die 25 -jährige Jubiläums Blockparty trifft auf das fast 100-jährige REX Kino im Kölner Veedel.
Die Kurzfilme aus aller Welt werden wir euch in mehreren Kinosälen über den Tag präsentieren; witterungssicher Indoor mit reichlich Zeit zum Klaav mit euren Cacherfreunden. Wir werden die ca. 60 Minuten GIFF Rolle um 10:30 Uhr und um 14:00 Uhr zeigen und es ist zwingend erforderlich dafür ein Ticket zu lösen. Der Eintritt von 5 Euro beinhaltet euren Kinoeintritt für eine der Sessions und enthält zusätzlich einen Gutschein von 2 Euro. Diesen könnt ihr als Verzehrgutschein an der Snack-Bar verwenden. Bitte verzichtet auf das Mitbringen von eigenen Speisen damit diese sehr günstigen Konditionen erhalten bleiben können.
Die GIFF Rolle zeigt traditionell internationale Kurzfilme, die von einer Geocaching Jury zusammengestellt werden und weltweit im Zeitraum November 2025 gezeigt werden. Mal sehen, welche kreativen Ideen wir diesmal aus unserer Community zu sehen bekommen.
Das Rex Kino ist das zweitälteste Kino in Köln aus den 20er-Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts, welches in seinen Anfängen noch den Stummfilm begleitet hat. Es versprüht den Charme der alten Kinozeiten und ist das älteste immer noch betriebene Lichtspielhaus in Köln.
Die Blockparty im Jahre 2025 ist die weltweite Feierstunde unseres 25-jährigen Hobbys und knüpft an die Tradition der Wohnblock-Feiern amerikanischer Städte an und entspricht damit unseren Veedels Festen, die wir so gern in Köln begehen.
Ein Mega Event ist ein Zusammentreffen vieler engagierter Vertreter unseres Hobbies in einem großen Event mit mehr als 500 Teilnehmern.
Natürlich gibt es , wie immer, ein Begleitprogramm zu diesem Event, welches wir nach und nach hier mit Links veröffentlichen werden, Veranstaltungen über mehrere Tage und reichlich neue Cache Gelegenheiten. Lasst euch überraschen!
Bitte postet euer "Will Attend" und bucht Online eure Tickets, da der Zugang nur zu euren jeweils gebuchten Zeiten in den Kinosälen möglich ist. Foyer und Begegnungsbereich stehen euch natürlich den ganzen Eventzeitraum zur Verfügung.
Verkehrsanbindung ist die U-Bahn Haltstelle Friesenplatz nur wenige Meter vor dem Kino am Hohenzollernring 60. Das Kino liegt direkt in der Entertainment- / Gastro- und Einkaufszone der Kölner Ringe Etwa 12 Parkhäuser stehen innerhalb 500 Metern vom Kino zur Verfügung. Straßenparkplätze sind außer für Anwohner nur in sehr geringer Zahl vorhanden. Zur Anreise mit dem ÖPNV wird geraten.
Das Logbuch ist unabhängig vom Kinobesuch und Ticket frei zugänglich. Die Event Location ist von 9:30 Uhr bis 16:00 geöffnet.
Indoor sind keine Tiere erlaubt und das Rauchen ist untersagt. Die Kinosäle sind mit Rollstuhl auch nur eingeschränkt erreichbar.
Zwei Schritte bitte zur Teilnahme:
1) setzt eurer "will attend" im Log
2) das Kinoticket noch einmal kurz erklärt. Ihr bucht eine Uhrzeit für den Giff entweder 10:30 oder 14:00 Uhr. Bei der Buchung wird eurem Kinoticket automatisch ein Verzehrgutschein von 2 € dazugebucht. Der Gesamtpreis beträgt 5 €. Die zugehörigen QR-Codes bitte zur Veranstaltung mitbringen.

The 25th anniversary block party meets the almost 100-year-old REX cinema in Cologne's Veedel district.
We will present short films from all over the world in several movie theaters throughout the day; weatherproof indoors with plenty of time to chat with your cacher friends. We will show the 60 minute GIFF reel at 10:30 and 14:00 and it is mandatory to buy a ticket. The entrance fee of 5 euros includes your admission to the movie for one of the sessions and also includes a voucher of 2 euros. You can use this as a consumption voucher at the snack bar. Please refrain from bringing your own food so that these very favorable conditions can be maintained.
The GIFF reel shows short films from all over the world, which are put together by a geochaching jury and will be shown worldwide in November 2025. Let's see what creative ideas we get to see from our community this time.
The Rex Cinema is the second oldest cinema in Cologne from the 1920s that still accompanied silent movies. It exudes the charm of the old cinema days and is the oldest movie theater still in operation in Cologne.
The Block Party in 2025 is the worldwide celebration of our 25-year hobby and is based on the tradition of block parties in American cities and thus corresponds to our Veedels Festivals that we like to celebrate in Cologne.
A Mega Event is a gathering of many dedicated representatives of our hobby in a large event with more than 500 participants.
Of course, as always, there is an accompanying program to this event over multiple days, which we will gradually publish here with links and many new caching possibilities.
Please post your “Will Attend” and book your tickets online, as access is only possible at the times you have booked in the cinemas. The foyer and meeting area will of course be available to you for the entire duration of the event.
The subway station Friesenplatz is just a few meters from the cinema at Hohenzollernring 60. There are around 12 multi-storey parking lots within 500 meters of the cinema. The cinema is located in the entertainment and shopping zone of the Kölner Ringe. Street parking is only available in very limited numbers, except for residents. Getting there by public transport is recommended.
The logbook is freely accessible regardless of whether you visit the cinema or have a ticket. The event location is open from 9:30 to 16:00.
Pets are not allowed indoors and smoking is prohibited. Wheelchair access to the movie theaters is limited.
Please take two steps to participate:
1) set your “will attend” log.
2) briefly explained the booking. You book a time for the GIFF either 10:30 or 14:00. When booking, a €2 food voucher is automatically added to your cinema ticket. The total price is €5. Please bring the corresponding QR codes with you to the event.
