The MGS is partnering with the Northern Virginia Geocaching Organization (NoVAGO) and the Frederick County Parks & Recreation to Celebrate 25 Years of Geocaching in the DMV.
The Maryland Geocaching Society(MGS) and NoVAGO are proud to present "Celebrating 25 Years of Geocaching in the DMV" on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Snook Farm Agricultural Center at Utica Park in Frederick County, Maryland. The event will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
There will be side events on other days. More details to come later.
**There will be an Official GeoTour Kick-Off on Friday, September 19, 2025 in Frederick, Maryland. Keep an eye out. You should be able to complete and pick up your coin on Saturday at this event.**
Schedule will be as follows:
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Geocaching 101 - hosted by MGS
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM - Presentation with The Bomb Doctor, Kirk Yeager
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM - Presentation with WVTim on Gadget Caches
2:00 PM - 2:30 PM - Discussion with a Reviewer (FrancisScottKey, YetAnotherReviewer and Cardinal Reviewer PLUS Lackey Jennifer)
2:30 PM - 3:30 - Geocaching 101 - hosted by NoVAGO
3:30 PM - Closing Announcements and Prize Winners (MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN)
12:00 - 2:00 - Geocaching and Orienteering Merit Badge event

- Cornhole

- Professional Photographer taking photos with props (all photos taken may be used by the MGS, NoVAGO and/or Frederick County Parks and Recreation as desired)
FAMILY FUN will include:
- Count the Candy in the Container (5 games. One game per hour, starting at 10:00)
- Duck Grab
- Origami
- Coloring Sheets
- Family Treasure Hunt
- Temporary Tattoos
- Doggie Treat Count
ADULT GAMES
- GPS Skills to include:
- * Closest to the Pin
- * What is the Area?
- Count the Candy in the Container (5 games. One game per hour, starting at 10:00)
- Poker Chip Run (200 attendees only)
- Decorate the Ammo Can (Get a ticket for a chance to win one of the ammo cans.)
- Log Rolling (max 300 cachers)
- BINGO Icebreaker
- LRC Game using personal tokens at ante
There will be three food trucks on site for food options. These will be listed when the food trucks have been confirmed. This is being arranged by the Frederick County Parks and Recreation.
Parkplatz options are available nearby the venue for FREE.
