Celebrating 25 Years of Geocaching!!!

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a daring quest,
where Signal hopped from log to log,
to find the very best!

The skipper led with GPS,
the team was strong and keen,
through maps and forms and countless calls,
they built a caching dream,
they built a caching dream!

The planning started rocky rough,
the first plan sank away,
but fearless minds and steady hands
would save the grand display,
would save the grand display!

And now we gather by the shore,
where caches bring a smile,
with FlagMan, GSMx too,
Balcanthez and W9JIM,
a Ginger Star,
a Fossil lady, and the rest,
here on Signal’s Isle!

On May 2, 2000, at approximately midnight Eastern Savings Time, the great blue switch controlling Selective Availability was flipped. Twenty-four satellites around the globe processed new commands, and instantly, the accuracy of GPS technology improved tenfold. Tens of thousands of GPS receivers worldwide received an instant upgrade. Geocaching was born, and the rest is history! Click this link for more details.

Opening & Closing Ceremonies – 10:00 am and 4:00 pm – Signal’s tropical welcome, registration and swag pick up at the beginning of the day, and then a grand farewell at the end of the day.

Island Games – Throughout The Day – Compete or watch our games: Coconut Creme Pie Eating Contest, Rubber Ducky Races, “X Marks the Spot," and Pathtag-Right, Left, Center

Game Prizes and SWAG – All Day – Who doesn’t love free treasure?

Photo Arch – All Day – Get ready for a variety of fun photo-ops!

Creative Cache Display – All Day – Show off your island-inspired geocache creations that would impress even the Professor (no radios made out of coconuts, though!!)

Gadget Caches – All Day – A cool variety of gadget caches and associated ALs.

Adventure Lab GeoArt – All Day – Rack up those finds with our new Adventure Lab GeoArt highlighting Gilligan's Island History.

Trackables & Pathtag Exchange – All Day – Swap and discover treasures from around the world.

Group Photo – 12:00 Noon – Don't miss the group photo right at the event site.

Raffles Prize Winners will be announced throughout the day. You do not need to be present to win. Check the Board to see if your ticket was drawn, then claim a prize.

Higher Value Prizes Awarded at 3:00 p.m. – You must be present to win. – "Skipper, can I have a ticket?"  "Little Buddy, you ARE the ticket!!"
