First there was SEMAG 100, which was attended by more than 200 geocachers and helped celebrate 100 straight monthly meet and greets in the area. The SEMAG 2024 Summer Celebration was born from the success of SEMAG 100, and it turned into the first Mega-Event in New England since 2019 and SEMAG's first ever Mega-Event! After multiple requests from happy geocachers, we decided to press on and try a large event for the third year in a row by putting on a Block Party for the SEMAG community and beyond!
For those who don't know, a Block Party is a unique kind of Mega-Event that is currently only available in 2025. Previously, every Block Party event was in Seattle and hosted by Geocaching HQ. To celebrate Geocaching's 25th anniversary, Groundspeak is allowing any Mega-Event to become a special Block Party Event in 2025. Because SEMAG 2024 was a Mega-Event that met the attendance requirements, SEMAG 2025 was awarded Block Party status pre-publication. So yes, this is still a Mega-Event...just with a unique distinction!
Join us for the third annual SEMAG celebration event, once more designed to bring together the geocaching community from far and wide! We will again be gathering at Attleboro's Highland Park, a former golf course donated to the city for conservation purposes and an ideal venue for the event. If you attended last year, you'll know just what to expect.
This year the celebration will be the first Saturday of May, which is typically Blue Switch weekend for geocaching. It seemed fitting to tie in the 25th anniversary of geocaching along with SEMAG (South Eastern Massachusetts Association of Geocachers), which itself is celebrating its ten year anniversary of monthly events in 2025.
This Block Party will begin at 1 P.M. and go until 7 P.M. A schedule of events is posted below. Some activities include a Q&A session from at least one local reviewer and the return of the popular gadget cache creator workshop/panel. Look for new caches in the area as well as Adventure Labs. Like the last two years, a special large log book will be available for signing and will be unveiled at the beginning of the event. Activities such as "toss the ammo can," geocaching BINGO and a kids' station will return for the Block Party.
You all helped make SEMAG 100 a great success in 2023, and that success led to the SEMAG 2024 Summer Celebration becoming a Mega-Event in 2024! Your further support of SEMAG helped lead to the SEMAG 2025 Block Party! Come join us as we celebrate these feats!

Pre-Event - SEMAG 2025: Cache & Dash Kickoff Event
8:30-9:00
Optional event in the parking lot for Highland Park
This event will be the kickoff for a full day of geocaching in Attleboro! Also known as a "cache and dash," sixteen new caches (and an extra cache with a special stamp in Highland Park) will be published at its conclusion for your finding pleasure. All caches will be letterbox hybrids with custom stamps carved by the ultra-talented RIclimber to celebrate 25 years of geocaching. Anyone who completes all caches and stamps the scoring sheet that can be picked up at the kickoff event will be eligible to recieve a special prize.
You do not have to attend the kickoff event to enjoy what the Block Party has to offer, but all are invited to attend.

Official log unveiling/event welcome
Welcome to SEMAG 2025! Take this time to talk to other geocachers, check out the trackable table and see what else SEMAG 2025 has to offer. Tickets will be available for the 50/50 and silent raffles at this time. The official event log will be unveiled as well, and all attendees are encouraged to sign it. Feel free to take a picture before it is signed!
1:30-2:15
Gadget cache workshop and Q&A
Local gadget cache creators will be answering any questions about gadget cache creations and explaining their gadget cache creation process. These gadget caches will be displayed and available to be experimented with by event goers.
2:30-3:00
Celebrating 25 years of Geocaching!
Geocachers will be invited to come together and share their most special and favorite moments of their geocaching careers to this point. We will talk in an open forum about what geocaching has meant to everyone and the community over time. Participants will be given raffle tickets and have a chance to win additional prizes exclusive to this seminar.

Project Skydrop Panel
Community members from Project Skydrop will be holding an open form to discuss what Project Skydrop was and answer any questions you may have about this real-life treasure hunt that took place in the early fall in the Northeastern United States. There is now a geocache hidden at the spot of the treasure!

Reviewer Q&A
Volunteer reviewers SearchNSeekNEnjoy and Massquerade will be holding an open forum to answer any questions you may have about the reviewing process. Stop by at this time to hear from them! Other reviews may be added to the schedule as the Block party date gets closer.
4:45-5:00
Group photo
The official SEMAG 2025 group photo, taken with a drone, will be done at this time. Luckily there is ample open space in the park to take the photo, especially near the event site. All event attendees are encouraged to be a part of this group photo. If you'd like to feature anything in the photo (flags, large trackables, etc.) feel free to do so.
5:30-6:00
Last call for raffles/ticket drawings
Last call for raffle tickets. This will be the last time 50/50 raffle or silent raffle tickets will be sold. Between 6:00 and 6:15, winners will be drawn and prizes awarded.
6:00-7:00
Event conclusion
The final raffle drawings will take place, as well as the conclusion of the event. Grab any trackables that may be left. We will also need help taking down some things from the event if anyone wants to help out.
