What is the UK Mega?

A Mega is a geocaching event attended by more than 500 people. Since 2008, the UK Mega has been an annual roving event to showcase different areas of the UK. It is regularly attended by up to 2000 people and has become a fixture in the calendar of many geocachers, both from the UK and abroad. In 2026 it will come to East Anglia for the first time.

On the day of the Mega Event there will be trade stands, refreshments, entertainment and some special Adventure Labs, plus the chance to meet old friends and make new ones.

When is it?
The Mega Event will be on Saturday 8th August 2026 from 10:00 to 16:00
Camping and Side Events will run all week from 4th to 10th August 2026

The Norfolk Showground is located just outside Norwich, with easy access by car. The showground has ample space for camping and plenty of toilet blocks and showers. Evening events will be held in the St Walstan Hall on site.

Camping

Camping is available from 4th to 10th August and can be booked on our website. We have a large flat grass field and are offering 10m x 12m pitches, with or without EHU. The site has permanent toilet and shower blocks and electricity is generated by solar panels on the roof of the exhibition hall. Have a look in our shop.

Getting Here

By Car

From the North and West – easily situated just off the A47 Norwich Southern Bypass at the A1074 Longwater Interchange.
From the South and East – Travelling to Norwich via the A11 from London and beyond or A140 from Ipswich, take the A47 westbound.

St Walstan Hall (see waypoint) on the Showground site.

If joining us from off-site, please follow the red or blue routes from the A47 and enter the Showground through the main entrance, opposite Premier Inn. Follow signs towards St Walstan Hall and park as instructed.

By Rail

The nearest Railway Station is Norwich, conveniently located approximately 7 miles from Norfolk Showground. For further details visit Trainline.

By Bus

The following bus services stop directly outside the Showground:
Konectbus Service Number 4 and First Eastern Counties Excel Buses.
